Forget about the glamour, the fame and money that is associated with footballers. There is something behind their smiling faces and the prowess in the field. Earlier this month, former professional footballer Andy Woodward broke his silence on the sexual abuse he endured as a youth team player.

The 43-year-old revealed Barry Burnell, a convicted pedophile coach, had raped him during his time at Crewe Alexandra. Since speaking out on the BBC, more players have come forward.
